Pastor — Rev. Irance’ Evangeline Reddix McCray, MD, M.Theo., M.Div.

Irance’ Evangeline Reddix McCray was born and grew up in Monroe, LA, the fourth daughter of Dr. John and Frances Reddix.   She attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1982 and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of her life in her freshman year.

She graduated from the Howard University College of Medicine, where she served as a tutor on the admissions committee, a mentor for young women and men, and attended Rhema Bible College as part of the governing council.  After completing her medical studies, she moved to Houston, TX, to the Baylor College of Medicine to obtain her training in Family Practice. There, she served as Chief Resident and on several other committees.

After graduation, she opened her first practice in the west side of Houston and practiced there for 11 years in solo private practice. She moved her family of three children to Rocky Mount, NC in 2002 in search of a more family-friendly environment.  In Rocky Mount, she purchased and renovated a 14,000 square foot hospital and created the Reddix Family Medical Center, employing more than 14 individuals.  In addition to establishing a busy medical practice, she wrote, produced, and broadcast weekly medical informational shows and inspirational shows on the local cable network.

She returned to her hometown after the death of her father. After three years back in Monroe, she was offered the opportunity to enroll in a fellowship with Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland in the clinical faculty development and Master’s in public health program, but the program lost funding before completion.  She obtained my Master’s in Theology with an additional certificate in Spirituality from St Mary’s and the EI. She is currently working on her Doctor of Ministry degree. She completed her  M.Div. Degree with a focus in Urban Ministry in 2015 from Wesley Seminary.  She has pastored at St. Johns Baltimore and Old Otterbein United Methodist Churches. As of July 1, 2021, she inherits New Waverly UMC. She is an ordained elder in full connection with the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church

In 2015 while at St. Johns, she created the Adullum Community Healthcare Center, LLC, a non-profit primary, and behavioral health center, where she currently serves as CEO. She has been a family practice physician for 31 years.
